faguirre Posted May 15, 2016 Share Posted May 15, 2016 Hi, im using HelioHost for a webpage that tracks my car over gps, I made the test on a local server that i put to work on my computer and i was using PostgreSQL + PostGIS, PostGis is an extension, but it needs to be installed on the server. PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables" the PostgreSQL server, allowing it to be used as a backend spatial database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension. Krydos Posted May 19, 2016 Share Posted May 19, 2016 A post will be made on this thread, and an announcement will be made on twitter/facebook/helionet news when/if we install PostGIS or upgrade PostgreSQL. Installing PostGIS will require recompiling all of PostgreSQL and possibly breaking cPanel integration so it's not a trivial matter to accomplish.
