  1. I've given it another try, and this time it worked. I now have access to cpanel and phpmyadmin, thanks.
  2. Things go from bad to worse - now I can't get in at all. I was dumped back to the login screen, and then told my login is invalid. I tried a password reset, and I'm still getting the same thing - "The login is invalid" How do I get back in in order to try to change my password?
  3. I know the crash happened some time ago, but I've been putting it off until I had time to deal with it... and now I try, I can't. The advice is to delete and recreate the database users. Done that. But I still can't access it through phpmyadmin, and a separate site that was trying to write to the database now comes back with the error (1449)-The user specified as a definer ('jgaltry'@'localhost') does not exist. This did happen once before, and I never did get it sorted - it took some sort of update on stevie before it came back (I was on the verge of giving up on it completely) My domain name is galtry.heliohost.org
  4. I've not found any difference since the problems were "fixed". I've deleted my database and recreated it, and attempted to restore it from cpanel. Instead of the full script being displayed on screen as it loaded, only the "selecting database" bit comes up. I still can't access anything through phpmyadmin - all I get is another username and password request, followed by a blank page. My username is jgaltry, and the (only) database is jgaltry_library
  5. I've been busy on other things and didn't see the message about the MySQL upgrade on stevie, but my main database is backed up on another server, so I still have access to the data. However, I can't get any sort of access to my data on stevie. External access doesn't work (and adding % to the remote mySQL list doesn't seem to do anything useful). I was getting an error message that said Host 'strawberry.ukhost4u.com' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server [1130], but now it's changed to Access denied for user 'jgaltry'@'strawberry.ukhost4u.com' (using password: YES) [1045]). I'm not getting the phpmyadmin page, I've deleted the database from cpanel, recreated it and still can't get a backup to load, and my web pages don't seem able to find the data either reporting Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqlerror() in/home1/jgaltry/public_html/library/libconnect.php on line 3). None of the scripts have changed, so it must be something on the server, and it started happening yesterday - about 9pm British Summer Time (GMT+1)
  6. No, even from MySQL Workbench I can't connect to the server using the username/password that connects me to cpanel, and I have made sure that my current IP address is in the permitted list.
  7. Do these problems explain why I've lost the ability to access the database from a remote host? I was doing so regularly (I even had a cron job set up on another server to take a backup) and now nothing seems to work, even though the remote host is enabled in cpanel. It all seemed to stop some time in December, but I thought it was something I'd done on the other server!
