  1. Did a little more investigating. It seems I am able to send email, but not receive. My domain is ecurrentz.com, and when I change the incoming mail server from mail.ecurrentz.com to stevie.heliohost.org, my email client is able to synch with your server, but still not getting my email. Please help!! keith
  2. Was working fine by accessing from Zimbra (similar to Outlook). Am able to access my cPanel, but Zimbra is not synchronizing with your server. It works with my other email accounts, so it's not something on Zimbra's side. I recently changed the A name to point to a Tumblr site, but have not changed the nameservers. Don't believe this should be the problem though. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. confused, Keith
  3. One option is to use a free service such as http://www.no-ip.com/ although there are dozens of other services that do the same thing. Basically you can get a free program that runs in the background while your computer is online to detect when your ip dynamically changes and then it updates the DNS to point to your new ip address. Obviously, if you pay these companies more money you get more services and more domain name options. If I understand your question correctly it sounds like you wish to use your domain that you have the nameservers pointed to Heliohost to access your dynamically shifting home ip address? If so one thing I did in the past that worked really well was I created a forum at mydomain.com and then used a subdomain to point to mydynamicip.com using a free service so if someone went to www.mydomain.com they would see the forum/website on port 80, but if they went to ventrilo.mydomain.com on port 3784 it would actually access my home dynamic ip address. Is that sort of what you are talking about? If it isn't you might also wish to speak with your internet service provider about the costs associated with purchasing a static ip. Thanks Krydos, that was very helpful. I've since looked at one of those options, dynDNS.com, but for the free option, you can only use their domain names. If I understand correctly how this thing works, the only difference between creating an A name/subdomain in Heliohost to point to a dynamic IP, and using these services, is the automatic updating feature? Do you know if there is a DNS updater within Heliohost to do the same? If not, I will probably go with one of these other providers, since they seem to specialize in this sort of thing.
  4. Hi: Am not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes. I am subscribing to a data service that requires a static IP from my computer. However, like most, my computer only has a Dynamic IP address. My question is this, which pardon me if it is too basic, but can I simply use an A Name in my DNS to point to my Dynamic IP address, and then update the IP when needed? If so, is there also a way to update the IP address automatically via software? Any help will be oh so appreciated!! Keith
  5. No worries all...I figured it out! Keith
  6. What are the mail settings which are needed to configure desktop email applications such as Outlook or Thunderbird? I tried using the suggestion in cPanel (mail.domain.com), but it does'nt work. Outlook also tried to detect the settings automatically, but was unable to detect my email (kw@ecurrentz.com). Thanks! Keith
  7. I'm such an idiot!! The emails were routed to sub-folders instead of the main inbox. Had to do some searching to uncover the subfolders, but I see them now. Thanks for your patience, djbob! keith
  8. Hi Root: I'm still not seeing the test emails I sent thru gmail and yahoo. The only email that I see in the inbox is a bounceback (mail delivery failed). That bounceback was sent thru the "contact us" at the the bottom of the cPanel, before I knew to use this forum. Are you seeing other emails in the inbox? I see the test email files when I use the file manager in cPanel though. Can you try sending an email to it with an external account? They are not going to horde or roundcube. thanks, keith
  9. I did a bit more research on this. I checked the file manager on the cPanel, and can see the emails in the "new" folder. However, they are nt showing up using any of the webmail programs like roundcube, etc. I think they may be routed to the wrong place on the server, or some setting is not allowing the webmail programs to recognize it. Hope this helps you pinpoint the issue. Keith
  10. Hi: This is a topic I started 3 weeks ago. It became elevated, but unfortunately I went on vacation, and the topic thread had been closed. So, I guess I have to start over. Basically, my problem is that I am able to send email out through my registered domain, ecurrentz.com. They are received externally as k2woo@ecurrentz.com, even though the created email account on cPanel is kw@ecurrentz.com However, when trying to send to this account, ie kw@eccurrentz.com, I do not see it in the inbox. Also, my external accounts (gmail, yahoo) do not receive any bounceback notification, so it seems that it was received somewhere. To complicate matters, I had tried sending a message through your help function at helio, which is the lone message in my inbox...a message that was returned to my inbox as undeliverable. When this topic was elevated last time, I was asked if I can see emails in the inbox (which I can't) because you logged in and are able to see things in the inbox. What am I doing wrong here? confused, Keith
  11. I have been trying to send to kw@ecurrentz.com, an email account I created thru the cPanel under my domain, ecurrentz.com, which is registered under mapname. When I try sending email to kw@ecurrentz.com, it does not show up in the inbox when I check thru Webmail. Also, I do not get a bounceback, which means it's been delivered somewhere. However, I am able to send from this account, which shows k2woo as the sender, which is my user name under heliohost. As a side, I also got an email saying my heliohost account ill be deactivated because of lack of activity, and I should logon asap. Although there is no site up yet, I have been logged on regularly. How often must you log on? Does it matter if you log on once and don't log off? will greatly appreciate your help!! Keith
  12. yes, it shows up on my list of created accounts. I am able to send email out using the created email account, but not receive. thanx
  13. Wizard: I believe that is what I did. I created the email account through the cPanel (getting started wizard), using my domain name, ecurrentz.com...specifically kw@ecurrentz.com. Am I missing something basic?
  14. Hi: I've recently signed up with you for hosting. My domain (ecurrentz.com) is registered with mapname, and I have changed the name servers to yours. My username on helio host is k2woo, and I have created an email account: kw@ecurrentz.com. I am able to send mail from this account via webmail, but am unable to receive anything using other outside accounts. Furthermore, these emails do not bounce back as undelivered, yet they are not in my inbox. Thus, the sent emails seem to be lost somewhere in the system. I've tried changing the MX options from the cPanel, but to no avail. What am I missing? Can you please look into this? bothered and bewildered, Keith
