There was a lot of talk on Discord about domain names, so I found it convenient to post this.

HelioHost is currently offering SUBDOMAIN.heliohost.us to new users.
Since .us is a ccTLD, it may adversely affect search results in areas other than the US.
It will be one factor for you to add a custom domain.

If you find it difficult to maintain on HelioHost,
you can keep your web and mail in the same domain even if you move the server.
Of course, it is also effective to move from another server to HelioHost.

.feedback provides a dedicated feedback system. Not suitable for use with common servers, including HelioHost.

This is a domain with volatile prices.
At one point it was under $1, but sometimes it was over $10.
The TLD LIST price fluctuation graph shows it clearly.
You may be charged a high renewal fee later after registering these at a low price.
To keep it in good condition, you should register for multiple years.

The .ovh domain is cheap, but the OVH control panel is confusing and occasionally stores queues for a few days. And the support system doesn't really work.
Can't you register a domain at a nearby OVH? You should be able to register from OVH.ie. However, a 23% tax will be added.
You can see an interesting episode on nic.ovh where this .ovh domain was born.

I wonder why they applied for such a TLD,
(.sbs is originally managed by another registry)
In particular, .cyou and .icu have been maintained at relatively low prices from the beginning.
Due to the above elimination method, .cyou is one of the recommended TLDs at this stage.

Nom.Za and nic.ua have not been active since they applied. Perhaps there is a delay in human response.

EU.org also seems to be spending time maintaining the server, and registration applications are accumulating.
I applied for EU.org (sub) domain registration just a month ago.
(Registration work has been particularly bad this year.)

Given the current situation, these services aren't really working.
As wolstech says, working with purchased domains is probably the best option right now.
Because cheap gTLDs exist these days. (For example .cyou )

I tried to register on .jp.net. (CentralNic subdomain, It pays the domain fee)
After changing to the HelioHost name server and waiting for a while, I registered with cPanel, but it failed.
I feel that only the ICANN management domain works in this state.

So I changed the name server to he.net and registered it in https://dns.he.net/ .
After that, when I registered with HelioHost, it was registered.

dns.he.net reflects NS records other than he.net as they are entered.
(At least Cloudflare doesn't do this, only subdomains)

The list I've seen includes Cloudflare, but it's probably causing problems with setting up a proxy. The IP address will then be Cloudflare's server.
OVH sometimes seems to have stopped processing in the queue. For example, registering an .ovh domain. It may also affect the name server.
These domains are likely to have a workaround. I also applied for a domain to Nom.Za, so I'll test it once it's registered as well.

Perhaps this could also have an affect on the CentralNic (sub)domains. I own .jp.net so I would try it.

EU.org could not be operated due to Server Error at present.
I've been using it for a few years and this is a rare situation.

I recently appeared here. I also recommend EU.org because of my long experience.
EU.org will register in a few hours if you're lucky, but at worst it's a few months later.
Some web services also reject EU.org, but of course it would be appropriate to use it on HelioHost.
You can also use Cloudflare on EU.org. The rate limit for Let's Encrypt is the same as for ICANN domains.

Freenom now overreacts to free domains and has wiped out successfully operating domains and accounts.
Yes, I was one of those who experienced it. So I really don't recommend this use. You will experience it someday.
Freenom's old service  "dotTK" was great. dotTK sent a letter to me in Japan. I can't see him at that time anymore.
Unfortunately, recent Google still has search results that have been abused in the Freenom domain.
I can register for a fee from a reseller, but I'm getting a better paid domain.

 

I found a great service and signed up, but at that time Johnny was the only option.

but the email address of my PayPal account and Johnny account was different, so I got a new host page.
