    I'm back

DjBob you can delete my account if you'd like http://trippin.heliohost.org

    Server Downed

I don't know if it will help but I registered my domain on http://mon.itor.us and the site tracks when your site goes down and will email alert you. I could send you the weekly and or monthly stats if it would help, or I could forward all the problem and recovery emails to ya. I just am trying to think of ways I can help, I don't know if you've got better or more precise ways of tracking it when it's down though. Hope you can figure out what's wrong with it! And thanks for the great support, most paid hosting companies wouldn't be as transparent about the issues as you've been now and in the past.
  3. I used to work at Cingular just before it became AT&T. I know that with most phones you can hook a data cable up to your computer and use your phone as a modem (which would completely avoid the need to download the files on your phone and transfer them). I believe the term is called tethering. I would google it and see if you can come up with results on whether or not the Blackjack can be tethered. But I think this would be a better way, because you can browse the internet faster at home too
  4. I don't know if you can consider this an mmorts but it does have online play, but it's technically called real-time tactical, not strategy. Either way the game is alot of fun. If you haven't played it, I suggest you do. World In Conflict http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_in_Conflict
  5. Are you on something? I honestly can't understand what you're talking about. I guess you think you aren't very creative, but you got me to reply...
  6. Did you not see the "Free Domain Requests" forum in the Customer Service category? http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showforum=45 It's the third sub-forum down.
  7. I suggest a process where they are required to write a paragraph about cats, at least 6 sentences, all at least 8 words long. Proper punctuation and capitalization is a must. If they pass (with a 95% or better) then they are allowed to view the signup page. Obviously this would be a pain, since it would require each account to be individually accepted.
  8. Everyone keeps saying that posting for domains will result in spam. I'm pretty sure we would notice if someone posted 400 spam posts! Thats just a bit more than obvious. And as for the store, there wasn't anything in there that can't be requested on the forums. There is a forum for the heliohost post for host account, and the only other stuff was name colors and stuff like that (and they were all sold out). So the store was pointless, but It was just kind of nice to see how many helions everyone had. I'm fine with it either way. As for these other ideas, I think making people pay for coding examples (or hugs, or art, or anything else like that) WILL result in spam. People have to post to get helions, and they need helions to buy the code or hugs or whatever. So I think that is just an all around bad idea.
  9. Small tiny error, that probably could be ignored, but bugs me personally. When you click the edit button (to edit your post) it pops up a small box with "Full Edit" and "Quick Edit", well the Full Edit link is indented and I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be.
  10. If your talking about Digsby, that is about the only downfall I see in it right now, but I just use x-chat2 for IRC. They are taking requests for new features, so maybe they will add IRC if they get enough people asking for it. Although I've never liked IRC clients built into other software, I've always felt they were a little lacking.
  11. http://digsby.com ftw. I personally thought pidgin was the best, until I used digsby. It's only available for windows right now I think, but they are supposed to be working on a mac version. Let me know if you guys install it and like it... I just want to know if I convert anyone. I've already gotten three or four friends using it just by accident.

My screen shot IS of the home page. And I just looked and it is mal aligned on every page articles, support, sign up, and home.
  13. Man I read a few threads of that forum someone posted, and I'm definitely an RE'er. The earth is round, there is seriously no way that big of a conspiracy could exist. And the people just reply with backwards logic when you try to get reasonable explanations out of them. It's easy to act like you believe in something by just ignoring the question when someone tries to prove you wrong. But whatever, I'm just glad this is a free country and they can believe whatever they want and don't harm me in no way.

FF3 is mine, let me check ie8 Wowzers, ie8 is really screwed, all the content (except the images) is far to the right, like maybe 400px. But if I turn on ie7 compatibility mode, it looks perfect (like in sungazers screen shot) Guess Firefox3 just screws stuff up.

The area's I circled are what I'm talking about. If you compare them to the opposite side (the left side) you'll see what I mean.

If you don't mind I'd like to point out some errors on your new home page (you might already know of them, but you might not). The xhtml button (redirects to w3c validator) actually validates http://demo.rockettheme.com/apr07 (same with the css button and s508 button, and the rss button is blank #) Your advertisement bar on the right side seems to be about 5 to 8 pixels too far to the right (it doesn't line up to the header or footer area) When you click the features tab link, it gives 404 error (but all the other links under it work, including clicking on the word "scripting" as it drops down)
  17. I personally wouldn't mind the IRC chat.
  18. I use the fast reply, but very very rarely use the preview feature. Only time I have is if I'm making a really long post and/or a post with a lot of formatting.
  19. After a bit of searching I could only find a reputation mod, but it allows all users to make the rep go down. So I don't know if this is feasible. http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/6192 I also found a rating mod, it compares itself to the feedback on ebay, but I also don't know if that would work. http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/8115
  20. I pretty much agree to this too, plus I rarely collect my interest anyway. Or if you could just keep the store but get rid of the interest all together.
  21. I'm pretty sure thats a way of cheating. I personally am not going to use it and it would be very easy for djbob to detect (just look for users collecting interest everyday at the same time).
  22. I also don't know the ins and outs of it but I'm also assuming php and or ajax, same way meebo works. There really isn't much to explain it connects to IRC and lets you have conversations just like an IRC client that you would download onto your computer. So if you have an IRC server or a registered channel on an already existing server this probably would be what you need.
  23. You can use mibbit and irc. Mibbit connects to an irc chatroom via your web browser, no java or flash needed. It's pretty awesome. Check it out here, http://www.mibbit.com/
  24. heliohost.org:2082 for some reason is simpler for me. But just another way to do the same thing.
