  1. Um... Ever since johnny came online, it is suffering from (very) frequent overloading. Are admins looking at it, or is it to be considered the current normal behavior? Some time before the Big Crash, things went much more smoothly on johnny, and I guess some of the more active accounts have moved to stevie because of unacceptable downtime for them. In fact, the current load patterns are a lot like the problems johnny had right before the crash... Hopefully, we're not headed there again. Thanks, Asher

First, BIG thanks for your efforts & bringing johnny back up! I'm still checking, but apart from some webmail settings (and >2 weeks' lost mail), stuff seems to be intact. However, there still appear to be some serious issues with johnny: occasional timeouts on the site, cPanel & webmail and/or very long waits for pages (order of minutes). I'm also getting internal error (500) on the johnny server load page, and when it loads, the numbers are extreme (40-50). heliohost.org & helionet.org exhibit similar behaviors even thought they are not on johnny... If GRD's server monitor is to be believed, some job seems to periodically load johnny so high that it freezes and does not respond. Asher Just wanted to add that the high-load-no-reponse pattern is showing the server monitor since johnny went back up on 20-Oct.
  3. Hello Admins, Seems like a tough nut to crack, and johnny's in a serious mess! 2 days after, can you give us any update / estimate / clues about the situation? Is there any way to get files off the downed server? Is there risk of data loss? Most important for me: What happens to mail that should have been received or forwarded? Thanks, Asher
  4. Yeah, you should try that. It'll cool you down a bit Just don't go for any of that Free ice cream... Asher
  5. A general reply from Support Admin is here: http://www.helionet....-johnny-issues/ At the moment, my hosted website is also down (timing out). Hoping for a successful fix soon, Asher
  6. Hello, When attempting to log into cPanel & webmail I get the following: Internal Server Error 500 No response from subprocess with exit signal: 1 cpsrvd/11.32.2.28 Server at anaor.heliohost.org I have tried: - Logging out (using "/logout/" url). - Removing cookies. - Re-openning my browser. The above error only shows when providing the correct password. Providing a wrong password returns me to the login page, as expected. I have noticed a change in the login page. Could my problems be related to a version update? Thank you, Asher I would also like to note that the johnny server load page also gives internal error 500. Could be related? My own site, however, is running without problems.
  7. It's definitely much better now. The system is generally responsive & only occasional timeouts that do not persist. Thank you! Asher
  8. Hello Ice IT, johnny's CPanel has been in the red and unresponsive almost constantly since 8-Sep. The entire server is extremely slow and occasionally offline. I think waiting for the problem to solve itself and disappear is not a course of action that can be taken seriously. I've been trying to do things in CPanel for a week now, and keep getting errors. johnny will only be "green" when an administrator finds out what's loading it so much, and makes it stop being red all the time. 2 other forum posts reflect this, and unfortunately they also lack any serious answers, nor do they reflect any attention from the staff to the core of the problem: http://www.helionet....s-and-slowness/ http://www.helionet....oads-on-johnny/ Personally, I would even be content with an answer that goes "it's a tough life and a free service, so deal with it", as long as there is an answer. Asher NB: Is this forum running on johnny? Clicking "preview post" just took 3 minutes to show the next page. Not exactly the service level a forum moderator would wish for, and certainly not one that would enable lively forum discussion.
  9. While not experiencing the problem reported in the original post by lillysaf (endless login-logout loop), I am seeing the slowness & timeouts in both cPanel & webmail reported here by others... I have reported in detail in a separate post. Asher
  10. Hello again, The above problems still continue... Has any admin looked at the issue? I think it might be related to this post: Johnny Cpanel Timeouts And Slowness Since I posted at 8-Sep, Piotr GRD's server monitor show cPanel performance almost always "in the red". At this moment, http access to my site is very slow & occasionally times out. cPanel & webmail are extremely slow (even reaching the login dialog), and also show errors (e.g. running email trace report in cPanel). johnny's load monitor generally shows low numbers, but occasionally spikes or even fails to load. Again, thanks to anyone who can take a deeper look. Asher
  11. Hello HelioHost Staff, In the past month and a half (starting end of July), I've noticed increasing loads on johnny, occasionally to the point that my small static HTML site would not load, let alone accessing cPanel. The general problem can be seen in the load reports for July, August & September reports of the average server load, but now that Piotr GRD's server monitor is up again, it is much more apparent. It seems like a job running every 1-2 hours, raising the load to the 20-40 level and making the server very unresponsive. At this moment of writing, my site, my cPanel, and even the above links to dallas.heliohost.org are all timing out. Could please you take a look? Thanks, Asher Update 6:49pm: After posting, the above problems persisted for another 2+ hours, during which it was very difficult to get persistent results from the server.
  12. Just saying 'Thank you' to Krydos & the Helio-staff for solving this issue.
  13. Hello, I'm recently having problems receiving mail on a johnny account. The setup that worked was very simple: no local account/mailbox and a catchall forward to @gmail.com Last successfully received message was at: Jul 9, 2012 5:13:17 PM First unsuccesful was at: Jul 10, 2012 1:32:01 AM Jul 9 was that last time I changed the setup, but everything tested OK. Looks like something changed at midnight on Jul 10... Errors received are either "Sender verify failed" or "No such user here". Mail trace shows a "Mail routing error" icon with the text "router forced address failure". Mail delivery report shows "Rejected" icons (black triangle) with the tooltip "This message was rejected at SMTP time by an RBL, filter, or other configuration." Could it be an out-of-control spam filter? (I haven't defined any at all) Creating a local mailbox in my account to catch "lost mail" changed the following: Some mail, but not all, is delivered & stored locally but still fails to forward to my @gmail.com address. The rest of incoming messages are still rejected completely. Thanks for the help, Asher
