  1. Flawless!! Thanks a ton!! Everything is working as intended now, even emails sent from the forum. /does happy coder dance Now, if we can just nix those darn 500 errors, we'd be set. Thanks again!!1 Elite Deeds
  2. A friend of mine tried to access the site. I was not even home, much less on FTP, cPanel, or anything else. Since she is the only one I've told about it, she was the only one there. So it can't be an issue of having 'to many connections', or 'server overload'. Are we going to fix this? I mean, if ONE person can't log into the site and post on the forum, it's kinda useless as a forum eh? I've had her try a few times, but those time I was on FTP, so I kinda gave it the benifit of the doubt. Also, php mail does not work. Thanks, ED XXXXXXX[/url] 4:15pm Oct 30 Crap on a cracker! Still no go: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@epicdeeds.tk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. 3. User: Epicdeee Server: Johnny Site: epicdeeds.tk Greetings, I am trying to use SMF's email function using PHP, and nothing seems to be going through. No new registration emails, and no direct emails from admin. I ran a few tests on the server, and it's indicated that the mail funtion IS installed. Is there a reason I should not be sending emails out? Below is a test script to test PHP email function. It does go to the 'email sent', however nothing shows up in my mail box. Yes, LOL, I checked my spam folder. Thanks, ED <?php $mail = mail("elitedeeds@outlook.com", "Test","Tester email", "From: Myself<elitedeeds@outlook.com"); if(!$mail){ echo 'mail is not sent!'; } else { echo 'mail is sent :-)'; } ?> This was in my server log. 4. User Epicdeee Server Johnny url epicdeeds.tk Greetings. I've been having a heck of a time getting PHP to get to run properly on Johnny. Please see my post my "Silly Question" May I have permission to create another account on Stevie? I was up at 1am this morning to sign up, however awaiting for help on the forum I missed the sign up window, so I'll try again tomorrow morning. The reason is I want to ensure that my PHP BBS; Simple Machine Forums, works properly on Stevie. It SEEMS; I say seems because nobody really knows until it's fixed ;)/&--#62;, to be a group/permissions problem. Instead of reposting my woes, please read the post mentioned above. Bust basically. The site will go to the main page, it will allow a post; most of the time 500 error is intermittent, however when I try to run any of the admin functions like package manager, theme manager, portal manager, it tosses a 500 error constantly. If Stevie runs fine I'll just delete the Johnny site and free up the resources. I have no intention, or reason, to run 2 sites on your hosting service, so one of them will be deleted once one or the other runs properly. I've already got a domain name for the Stevie sign up. And that would be innerflame.tk It's a reference to having peace, hope, and love for fellow man within ourselves. Any-rate, thanks a ton. ED
  5. Apparently my public_html is assigned to the wrong group. The rest of my files/directories; tmp, mail, public_ftp, and .softaculous belong to user 75485 grp 75475 public_html belongs to user 75485 grp 99 I'd change it myself but I don't have ssh access. Please put my public_html in the proper group, then it should be able to find the files. Thanks a ton, ED
  6. I have tried to install MyPHP, and phpBB software also, with the same results. phpBB fails in install though. I've ensured permissions are proper according to installation instructions, and support forum feedback. I tried to install a theme. I had no FTP connections, no cPanel connection, and cleard my cache. below are from the error logs. From SMF's error log. [27-Oct-2013 09:16:46 America/Los_Angeles] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/pdo_pgsql.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/pdo_pgsql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 From cPanel error log [Tue Oct 29 12:12:31 2013] [error] [client 207.119.156.97] File does not exist: /home/epicdeee/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://www.epicdeeds.tk/smf/index.php?action=admin;area=theme;sa=admin;a0f044e0=2dead753033f651f7e502525c4dc5c7a The site will go to the main page, it will allow a post; most of the time, however when I try to run any of the admin functions like package manager, theme manager, portal manager, it tosses a 500 error. Both logs say the file does not exit for some reason. Thanks ED
  7. I am sorry for bumping this up. However, it was marked SOLVED and it is not. Should I make another post?
  8. I just tried to install a them that is 376k, and it gave another 500 error. The only thing I've in mt .htaccess is listing off, and a redirect to the /smf/ directory. I had no connection with FTP, mail, or Cpanel. Below is my .htaccess and just a couple of the errors. As you can see, it's always in the 'theme' or 'package' section that tosses the error the most. Less common is basic browsing and test posting. I will happily make you and admin account; since the board is in mantainance mode atm, and let you try for your self. I will put a theme or package on my site that you can download to your machine and try to install via the forum interface. I've no problem with that. I tried to sign up for a duplicate account as suggested, however it gave an error. I know that my IP is blocked/limited to one account, that's why I asked for access to both servers. I set my alarm so I could be awake during signup times, however I may have missed that window. Let me know how you'd like to proceed. Thanks, Epic Deeds -edit- For giggles I renamed my install, and used the install off of cPanel in Softaculous to see if I'd jacked up permissions or something goofy. It got to 6% and said 'connection lost'. However, the sub directory /smf was populated, so I fired it up. It loaded, I logged in, I went to package manager to install SimplePortal, and got the same 500 error. I went to themes and tried to install the Halloween one you saw, and it gave the same 500 error. I hope this helps in running down the problem. Maybe you should try an install on a test site or something? Also, my test user; a friend of mine, does get the 500 errors, so it's not limited to the 'webmaster'/ Thanks again, ED RewriteEngine on Options -Indexes RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^epicdeeds\.tk$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.epicdeeds\.tk$ RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/epicdeeds\.tk\/smf\/" [R=301,L] [Tue Oct 29 01:06:14 2013] [error] [client 207.119.156.97] File does not exist: /home/epicdeee/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://www.epicdeeds.tk/smf/index.php?action=admin;area=theme;sa=admin;ce6b7d11381=27ac34a7d06c775aa336fcfa7e1291a5 [Tue Oct 29 01:06:04 2013] [error] [client 207.119.156.97] File does not exist: /home/epicdeee/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://www.epicdeeds.tk/smf/index.php?action=admin;area=theme;sa=admin;ce6b7d11381=27ac34a7d06c775aa336fcfa7e1291a5
  9. HH User: Epicdeee Server: Johnny Site: epicdeeds.tk Hiya's. I've found that there may be something hinkey with Johnny that is preventing the Package Manager in SMF to work properly. When I try to install a Package/Modification it tosses a 500 error. They are not huge files, I think SimplePortal is under 300k and it tosses the error out. So it should not be long enough to time out. So do themes, and anything else that it tries to install. I've checked all the file/directory permissions and they are set properly. The process is pretty straight forward. Download the file from the Simple Machine Forum site. Go to the Admin panel in your forum, and chose Package Manager. Click 'upload' and browse your HDD for the file. It then downloads it, decompresses it, copies the configuration/new files it needs to, and then poof. 'Your package has been installed, you should see the changes' Instead of that, it tosses a 500 error during the forum refresh. Now, for packages, and themes this is really no big deal. I mean, I've worked around it a tad, so that's no biggie. Until... Always an 'until' eh? LOL Until I went to install the security update I was informed of today. I treated it like any other package, and of course it tossed me the 500 error. This time; I am sure it's because something was interrupted during an edit or something, the 500 error jacked up the whole works. I ofcourse had a back up, and restored it with no problems. I then tried my package work around, however that failed also. Since this package is mostly pure configuration file edits rather than copying new files for new functions, the 500 error jacked up the editing process. With this in mind, I am wanting to move to Stevie for stability, and to see if I can get this 500 error to stop. I was wondering. May I KEEP my Johnny site epicdeeds.tk until my Stevie one is out of Queue? The domains will be different. New Domain: innerflame.tk From what I understand we can request to have a site on both machines if we want/need to. But I don't need two, and I am not greedy. Just a temporary thing and then I'll free up Johnny when Stevie calls to play. The reason is so I can continue to jack around with the install I have, work out all the little burps and such, and when innerflame.tk comes live make a backup, then delete epicdeeds.tk From what I understand it takes a couple/few days for Stevie to process new accounts, and I'd like to use that time for configuration/tweaking/learining and such. /shrugs If not, then I understand, and will go through the 4-5 day process of moving it as per layedout in the instructional post. Just let me know one way or another so I know how to proceed. Thanks a ton guys, Elite Deeds Here's some of the errors I get in the log. It says the 'file does note exist'. Sometimes a refresh works, sometimes a cache clear refresh works, sometimes it never recovers from the 500. 10. Thanks a ton!!! I am in, and as I thought, i fat fingered the keyboard. uuugggg. There were 1 to many e's in the name that I thought I'd chosen.. LOL I apologize for not giving more information, I thought I'd given enough. From now on I will include everything as to make things easier for you. I DO appreciate your efforts in this matter. /bows Thanks again folks, much appreciated.
  11. Me again. I hate to be a bother, however I've noticed that other posts/issues have been solved that were posted after I posted this one. Is my request to email me my cpanel information not possible? Please let me know, so we can figure out how to proceed. As of this moment, I am kind of treading water, since I can not even FTP stuff up, I am at a stand still. Thanks again, Elite Deeds
  12. Hey fine fellow geekodians. I trust all is well on this fine day. My account seems to be live, since my site epicdeeds.tk now gives an index page instead of the 'UR queued' page. WOOT! /CHEERS!! /does the happy geek dance. Now, as you can see in my previous post, when I signed up my fingers were not playing nicely. Due to this I am unsure if I mispelled my cpanel username to one other than the one I thought I did, and the password seems to have suffered the same fate. I tried the 'recover password' option with several 'variants' of what I THOUGHT was the user name, but alas no email ever came. The email address on the account is the proper one though. This was verified by a very kind admin, and for giggles I reset my forum password without problems. I know the forum and cpanel are 'different' however the email addresses should/are the same. Would it be possible at all for me to get an email with my cpanel username and a temporary password mailed to me? If not, then I'll have to ask for my URL to be removed; since it's one account per user according to the TOU, and resign up and wait the long wait of being queued. I could not delete the account if I tried, since I don't know the password. HAHA Thanks a ton, and I apologize for being such a pain in the.... Well, you get it. Also, another quick thing. I am going to setup a custom SMF and setting it up with my theme, installing packages; i.e. SimplePortal and a few other simple ones, groups, permissions, testing, and other various ADMIN stuffs. I am wondering if the inital setup of the forum is going to push into the 'you are a terrible user and resource hog, so get out of here' category? As stated, this will only be for the inital setup and installation. The 'normal' runnings of the forum should be pretty resource friendly, since I've no users atm. ROFL!! Anyrate, thanks a ton for your time. I apologize for the wall of text. And have a grand day. EliteDeeds
  13. Hey, thanks a ton!!! I'll hang tight then. Just blows chunks I mistyped my password. /rolls eyes I am not normally such a goofball. Well, I am, but not in such a disaterous way. Thanks again for your reply, and again I apologize for the error. ED
  14. Ok, I screwed up baaaaadddd. I bet you don't hear that often eh? Ok, let's go from the start. I had a site elitedeeds.tk queued for installation. I then decided I wanted to change the site name to epicdeeds.tk So, in a rush, I deleted elitedeeds.tk and then went to sign up for Johnny again using epicdeeds.tk Now, I get the 'site is queued' page, however when I go to into C-Panel it bounces what I THOUGHT was my username and password. I also seem to have mispelled my email address because I never got a confirmation, nor a link to C-Panel like I did the first time. I then requested my password to be emailed to me, and alas that email never came. So, it's obvious that I screwed up, in a very very bad way. I know epicdeeds.tk is in queue because for an experiment I tried to sign up again and it said 'this site is in queue' or whatever it says when a site is already in the system. I humbly request one of two things, and either one is fine with me. 1) This would be the hardest I'd think. But would you please delete my C-Panel/email information and reset it to epicdeeds.tk and resend the confirmation and c-panel links, as well as a password reset link. The proper address is epicdeeds@outlook.com 2) This seems the easiest. Delete the site epicdeeds.tk from the database and I'll just sign up again and place myself back in the queue. Or, if there's a third option, I am completely open... Thanks a ton, and I sincerely apologize for this obvious ID10T error. The only thing I can think of is my fat fingers were not on the 'home' row when I was typing, and I mispelled something and did not catch it. Sincerely, ED
  15. Greetings. An introduction eh? hhmmm.. My name is Mike, pretty generic and boring, just like me. I am an average guy, nothing really special, however I've a knack figuring things out. I will research before I ask for help, because to me the puzzle is 100% of the fun. UUmmmm... I am not a 'classic' geek I guess. I was raised on a cattle ranch, but can't change a timing belt. HAHA Everyone would bring me their electronics to fix though, even as a child. When digital clocks were brand new; did I mention I am old , I took moms apart to see how it worked. I built a logic probe and followed the signals. She was not impressed at the time, but grew to realize my talent once the shock of her 100.00 clock torn apart on her bed was over. That's about it. Basic geek life. Single, I play MMO's, read programming manuals like most people read novels. I've a Ruby On Rails book as a 'bathroom' book. However, I still suck at it, but learning. Happy coding, EliteDeeds
