  4. Hi. I would like Java to be installed on my Jonny acount. I have already requuested for it and the estimated date of installation is of a year later. I intend to stage an application and move on tommy if everything goes well... I also understand that escalating a jonny request would be unfair for tommy user, but I can;t wait that much. Hope that support will walk me through. HH Jonny Username: jgodara Thanks
  5. Hello, I have a problem with my java/jsp application. I created it in eclipse as it was described here http://wiki.helionet.org/Java_Servlet. I have tested it on Apache 7 and selected Java 1.6 for this project. It runs ok on my local machine. I deployed it on server (rec0.heliohost.org/xmascard) and it doesn't work as it should. The problem occurs everytime I try to get object from java in jsp site. I'm trying to do it like: <% Card card = (Card) session.getAttribute("card"); %> And when I try to use this object <%= card.getUsername()%>I allways get NullPointerException like this object is never loaded. As I said it works on my local tomcat 7 server so I doubt it is implementation problem. Mabye there are some version differences so I don't ask you to fix this. I would only like to know how should I pass objects (or eventually simple variables) from java code to jsp the way it works on your servers. I'd love to try it myself but long deploying times make it hard. I hope you can help me Regards, rec0

  9. Hi all, Wonderful service so far, really happy with this website. I'm running a Java server on Tommy, and I notice that it gets restarted or put to sleep regularly. Is this intended? The server I'm running was designed to run constantly. I need to regularly access a servlet page in order to keep the matchmaking service running. Cheers, Tommygun
  10. Hello all, So far it's been pretty great to be able to use this service. I'm still learning the ropes here, I'm struggling to get my Java websocket up and running. I'm trying to run a small matchmaking service for my indie game Warpaint. I've got Java enabled on Tommy, and my .war is successfully deployed. Servelets respond as expected. I'm not sure exactly how to structure the url to access the websocket, or how to test that the program is listening for incoming websocket connections. Here's what worked at my last hosting solution: (wss://warpaint-l4dd3r.rhcloud.com:8443/socket) I'm aware that the default websocket ports, 443 / 8080 should work for Heliohost, so I'm trying this url: (wss://tommygun.heliohost.org/warpaint11/socket) But it's not working, and I'm not sure how I might continue debugging. Has anyone set up a Java websocket on here before? Best, Adam
  11. i want Some Information Regarding ( Java Compiler & Apache Tomcat ) on Heliohost. Does Heliohost Server's Supports Java Compiler 1.7 , 1.8 & Apache Tomcat v8.0 , v8.5 .. ? Thx.....
  12. Hi all, Super cool service you've got set up. I'm trying to get it all working for me, and I'd like to ask about some logistics. I'm running a small indie game development company, and I like to run really small, light, websocket servers to do things like stats and matchmaking. That in addition to .html splash pages. I've got an existing server written in Java that I'd like to use here. I've just received access on the Tommy server, and I'm in the queue for Java support -- so that's great. I'm migrating from Openshift due to their policy changes. I'm posting here now because I have to write a new server for my next game soon, and since I'd like to use C#, ASP.NETbecomes a good choice. May I run both a Java websocket and C# websocket applications? I'm happy to donate if it all works out, this place seems like a young hacker's oasis. Best, Tommygun

  14. Hi admin/s, I need a Java Hosted website at Divyansj.gq for educational and training purpose only. I dont even need it for a whole year. But the current time shows that java will be activated in May 2018. I have to set up my files and application server within this month. Can the activation time be lessened? I dont even need other services like php support, not even email and all. Please do the needful if possible. Thanks, Divyans Username: divyansj Website: divyansj.gq server: Johnny
  15. Hi I read here http://wiki.helionet.org/How_to_access_cPanel that I can access cpanel using port 80. "To do this, simply navigate to http://cpanel.yourdomain.com/ replacing yourdomain.com with your domain name". I still didn't assign the domain to this hosting, is there a generic url that I can use for both cpanel and later on to call my Java webservice? Thanks!
  16. Hi I waited to register to Tommy (Java), I even woke up at 4am (my time) which is one hour after registration was suppose to open and the registration was already full, which means I need to wait for another 24 hours just to maybe encounter the same problem again. What are my options? it seems that Tommy is the only sever that is relevant to me based on HelioHost recommendation (Java). Thanks.
