Hello dear heliohosters I've noticed a difference between Tommy and Ricky when it comes to the HTTPS version of the default subdomains, namely: webmail.xxx, cpanel.xxx, and webdisk.xxx.heliohost.org. 1) On Ricky http://cpanel.licool.heliohost.org loads the NOT secured cpanel login page. https://cpanel.licool.heliohost.org loads correctly the SECURED cpanel login page. While, 2) On Tommy http://cpanel.awal1.heliohost.org loads the NOT secured cpanel login page as well, but https://cpanel.awal1.heliohost.org POINTS to the INDEX page in public_html! instead of loading the secured cpanel page. Although Krydos has explained to me that on Tommy cpanel.xxx, webmail.xxx... etc are not real subdomains, they are actually proxies. For instance, cpanel.xxx is a proxy to tommy.heliohost.org:2083. I would like to know what is the difference then with Ricky that loads the right subdomain page weather using http or https? when Tommy doesn't I hope my question is clear and thank you in advance for any help.

Hi all, Wonderful service so far, really happy with this website. I'm running a Java server on Tommy, and I notice that it gets restarted or put to sleep regularly. Is this intended? The server I'm running was designed to run constantly. I need to regularly access a servlet page in order to keep the matchmaking service running. Cheers, Tommygun

Hello all, So far it's been pretty great to be able to use this service. I'm still learning the ropes here, I'm struggling to get my Java websocket up and running. I'm trying to run a small matchmaking service for my indie game Warpaint. I've got Java enabled on Tommy, and my .war is successfully deployed. Servelets respond as expected. I'm not sure exactly how to structure the url to access the websocket, or how to test that the program is listening for incoming websocket connections. Here's what worked at my last hosting solution: (wss://warpaint-l4dd3r.rhcloud.com:8443/socket) I'm aware that the default websocket ports, 443 / 8080 should work for Heliohost, so I'm trying this url: (wss://tommygun.heliohost.org/warpaint11/socket) But it's not working, and I'm not sure how I might continue debugging. Has anyone set up a Java websocket on here before? Best, Adam -
Hi all, Super cool service you've got set up. I'm trying to get it all working for me, and I'd like to ask about some logistics. I'm running a small indie game development company, and I like to run really small, light, websocket servers to do things like stats and matchmaking. That in addition to .html splash pages. I've got an existing server written in Java that I'd like to use here. I've just received access on the Tommy server, and I'm in the queue for Java support -- so that's great. I'm migrating from Openshift due to their policy changes. I'm posting here now because I have to write a new server for my next game soon, and since I'd like to use C#, ASP.NETbecomes a good choice. May I run both a Java websocket and C# websocket applications? I'm happy to donate if it all works out, this place seems like a young hacker's oasis. Best, Tommygun

Hi. I'm trying to get a simple Python script running: #!usr/bin/python3.6 print ("Hello") tried #!usr/bin/python3.6, #!usr/bin/python3, #!usr/bin/python without success. Also tried print "Hello" without parenthesis.the file is chmod 755 and is in the cgi-bin directory. What's wrong? user: ktulxxserver: Tommy. Thanks. -
Hi I waited to register to Tommy (Java), I even woke up at 4am (my time) which is one hour after registration was suppose to open and the registration was already full, which means I need to wait for another 24 hours just to maybe encounter the same problem again. What are my options? it seems that Tommy is the only sever that is relevant to me based on HelioHost recommendation (Java). Thanks.

[solved] Dear Admin, I discover today that my account on heliohost.org has been suspended, hopefully this is an error and was there any "run away" cgi scripts ? a ) my HelioHost username is : micou b ) the server is on tommy c ) the host domain is ahe.heliohost.org if you know what was the reason of the suspension, I would be really happy to have a corrective action such that the situation won't repeat due to my website. How can I deploy my Django project to Tommy: https://github.com/davidbgeek/drEdsby? What I've done is I've just renamed my wsgi.py to dispatch.wsgi. Not sure what else I'm supposed to do.

Hello, all, I was wondering if the Java API for JSON Processing could be enabled on Tommy so that it could be used with JSP. I think all that would need to be done would be to have the jar files for the API and library placed in whatever classpath is being used by Tomcat. Hi, 1) As far as I got it, the Tommy server should be a way stable and reliable one than Johnny, but currently the uptime of Johnny is 100%, while Tommy's 98%. I understand there may be hundredths of reasons for that, but may you please tell me why is this actually so atm? 2) I'm using the Tommy server currently and I can't find PHP Info with both of the templates provided. How can I check what current version am I using atm? 3) I have my own domains(couple of them), and I want one of them to replace the subdomain of the heliohost, and use others as parked domains. Am I able to do that - to delete the subdomain of heliohost, so it will be only available to access the site with my own domain(or other parked domains of my)? Edit: Okey, I think I found the PHP version - it's on the "Server Information" link, at the right column of the paper_lanter theme. It says PHP version is 5.6.24... Is there any info on when it will be upgraded to 7? Edit 2: I've just noticed not my IP address at the "Last Login" area. That IP was 65.19.***.* -- is that someone from Admins or...?

I signed up for a Tommy account this midnight (3 March 2017 at about 00:00 GMT) but haven't been able to sign in yet. When I signed up, I got the confirmation message saying "you might need to wait for your account to be activated" but I don't remember how long that wait was. But the Account Status page is still saying "There is no account in our database that matches that [username/email].", depending on which I try, and I am not able to log in either. It's been about 11 hours now. Do signups usually take this long? Or is there something else I have to do? Username: hippo Domain: hippo.heliohost.org(I had a previous account on Stevie with the same username but a different domain, if that makes a difference. Also, I clicked on the email confirm link a bunch of times before the actual signup) -

Hi I have a account on the Stevie server named krivers Im just wondering if its possible to have the files and settings including the domains and all the DNS settings moved over to my new account on Tommy, the account name for that being rivers ? If this is possible, can the primary domain on the krivers account be set as the default domain not he new rivers account on tommy. Any assistance would be appreciated Thanks Rivers

I've read that Tommy supports SNI and as such certificates from Let's Encrypt can be installed free of charge: http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/26572-will-heliohost-support-lets-encrypt/. Could somebody please point me in the right direction as to how to actually a certificate up and running? I've been looking around for a while but all the Let's Encrypt tutorials I can find require either SSH access to the server or some sort of cPanel plugin, neither of which are available options as far as I can tell. Installing the certbot client on a local Linux machine and attempting to generate a certificate from there didn't seem to work either. Anyway, seeing as it seems to be possible based on the link above, I thought I would reach out to see if anyone has got this working and could lend a hand - I'd really appreciate it. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious. Any ideas?

I had an account on johnny which had java support too. But, now i recently migrated to Tommy. Do I have to again activate java on my account using "Request for java" post?
