  2. Hello, I'm having issues configuring my mail on Thunderbird 38. I believe I'm using the valid settings, but Thunderbird is throwing errors in its console log, and I can't proceed to adding the account to the application. Here are some screenshots of the issue:
  3. Hi, I have trouble setting Thunderbird with my email: info@sakisx.heliohost.org On the cpanel it says I can use Secure SSL/TLS Settings but the only settings that work are : Incoming IMAP ,port 143 ,SSL= STARTTLS ,Authentication= NOT Encrypted (normal) Outgoing SMTP ,port 587 ,SSL= STARTTLS ,Authentication= NOT Encrypted (normal) Are these settings "safe"? Also another thing that puzzles me is which name server I must choose with the above settings. The cpanel mentions for SSL the "stevie.heliohost.org" and for the nonSSL "mail.sakisx.heliohost.org". Which one should I use? After thunderbird complained for SSL certificate and had to made "exception" I send a test mail to hotmail and gmail account. But the hotmail message was not send: From info@sakisx.heliohost.org I got: ""This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: XXXXXXXXXXX@hotmail.com SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:&--#60;info@sakisx.heliohost.org&--#62; SIZE=XXXX: host mx2.hotmail.com [X.X.X.X]: XXX XX-XXX (XXXXXX-XXXXX) Unfortunately, messages from X.X.X.X weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.""
  4. I've seen part of this issue come up a few times, with workaround resolutions that really aren't ideal, but I've not seen this related continuation of the problem. The recommended ports for IMAP: 993; and for SMTP: 465. The (not recommended) settings are for IMAP: 143; and for SMTP: 25. But neither of these work in Thunderbird. The only config that works is IMAP: 143 (not recommended) and for SMTP: 587 (not listed for either config setting). And as was mentioned in another users post, Thunderbird gave a warning message about the security settings being potentially unsafe one time, and gave the option to override it (which I did, but I'd rather not have to do that). However, AVG is unable to scan the emails for viruses because they are encripted with unorthodox settings, so I have to manually input the server/port settings in AVG. The problem is, none of the 3 port options work, which means AVG pops up 4 times (1 for each address) every 5 minutes to let me know, interrupting anything I may be doing from reading an article, coding, or watching a video. What I don't want to do is compromise on email security, and that's what I'm being forced to do... which makes this a HH problem, and not an AVG problem. What I need is not a workaround to prevent AVG from telling me there is a problem, but a solution that allows me to use the correct (and secure) port settings that AVG will recognize and that Thunderbird will use without security overrides.
  5. Hey guys. Rather new here and looking to get my blog rolling. I really like this host and everything you guys are doing. I'm trying to setup my email with Thunderbird. I keep getting this lovely little error: "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server mail.threefatasses.info responded: Login failed." I have searched the forums for similar issues but nothing I have found has helped. Here is what I have done. In Cpanel, I created a new email account: enlightenedshadow@threefatasses.info with my password. All went well. Then I went to Thunderbird and started to create my account there. I entered my email/password and it found all the servers just fine. But I get that error listed above and can go no further. If anyone knows why this is happening or knows of a Rookie mistake I am making, please let me know! Thanks in advanced.
