Followed Topic Does Not E-Mail Updates

Recommended Posts

I made a question topic and set it to be followed so that I would be notified when it was replied to but I never recieved any e-mail notifications. I just logged in again today wondering why nobody had replied and found that 2 people had replied and I just hadn't found out about it.

I believe this may be a bug in the forum set-up and wanted to let you know or be told what I am doing wrong to get the results I was wanting.

Email notifications definitely work.

Krydos,

craigis has just posted a reply to a topic that you have subscribed to titled "Followed Topic Does Not E-Mail Updates".

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Check your notification settings http://www.helionet....a=notifications (http://www.helionet....a=notifications) I receive mine (I have it set to once daily) if people respond to topics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The topic can be found here: http://www.helionet....updates/unread/

If you have configured in your control panel to receive immediate topic reply notifications, you may receive an
email for each reply made to this topic. Otherwise, only 1 email is sent per board visit for each subscribed topic.
This is to limit the amount of mail that is sent to your inbox.

Unsubscribing:

You can unsubscribe at any time here: http://www.helionet....90bWFpbC5jb20,/

The emails come from admin@heliohost.org if that helps. You might want to check your spam folder, or add an exception to admin@heliohost.org to make sure it delivers to your inbox. I've never experienced it myself but people have told us that sometimes their email service doesn't even put our emails into their spam folder, but just deletes them without any chance to see them at all. If that is the case for you it might help to try changing your helionet email address to something else to see if the emails get delivered.

Also, if you're trying to test it, you won't get notifications for your own posts.
