User proxse, web-address proxse.heliohost.org on Stevie:

When I try to run any PHP file at all, even a blank one, I get a 500 error. I tried creating a blank file, same thing.

I don't know if it's somehow conencted to moving my account from Johnny.

Somewhat related comment: FTP doesn't work either.

Your site is loading fine for me. Maybe you need to clear your browser cache?

FTP is working fine for me too. In fact I can see that you have two FTP connections currently open...

The problems have mostly fixed themselves. It still occasionally happens when I'm logged into cPanel on Stevie.

That's because you're hitting the process limit. When you have too many processes already running and php tries to create a new process it gives a 500 error.

This issue has never happened with Johnny.

That's because the process limit is higher on Johnny. By limiting the processes on Stevie we are able to make sure that one account doesn't hog all the resources on the entire server. That's part of the reason Stevie has 99.9% uptime and Johnny has 85% uptime. Do you want a higher process limit or do you want better uptime? You can't have both.

And are lightly-used proxies allowed on Heliohost?

Sure, they're allowed, but they have a very high chance of getting you suspended, because they have a tendency to cause a lot of load. I never really understand why people think they need their own proxy anyways. There are already several million free proxies on the internet at any given point that you can use, why do you need to risk your account getting suspended to run your own?
