[Solved] Cpanel Password Error

KGIII

Recommended Posts

I hate to start off being a pain but it appears that I am having an issue logging in. I'm pretty sure I used the same password I signed up with - I copied and pasted it. But, it spit at me and said it was incorrect. I went and reset it, it did the same thing.

I figured I'd better stop there and check the forum. I did. I noticed that too many attempts will make it angry. So, I'm not going to keep trying.

My account is "kgiii" and I just signed up today, it says it's complete, and all that jazz. :)

First of all, you were blocked from the firewall

5 failed login attempts to account KGIII (system) -- Large number of attempts from this IP: 74.209.*.*

Try logging in again after you are unblocked by an admin and if you aren't able to, we will manually reset your password and send it to your email address registered.

With which password? I went and reset it (as mentioned above) and it gave me a password that never worked. Rather than need to get an admin involved, would it just be easier to reset it to something and email it to me - where I'll cut&paste and try anew? (I don't want to mess it up.)

Sorry for the delayed response but I had semi-important things that needed attending to. However, I have since tried them both anew and, in between it telling me that the authentication timed out, it told me that it was wrong. In both cases, it was cut and paste - with a browser that has - zero extensions. I think I must have mashed something to begin with and must have had the wrong password copied and pasted. That's my only guess, though I thought I was being particularly careful.

Again, my most sincere apologies for having gotten off on the wrong foot. It's quite abnormal and I'm usually fairly self-sufficient. I have no idea why this happened and will do my best to ensure it doesn't happen again after this has been resolved. I'll straight up tattoo it on my butt. (Ain't nobody looking there for a password.)

That works and I am exceptionally impressed. I do have two more questions, perhaps three, but they might be better suited for new tickets.

Feel free to mark this solved. If these questions go unanswered, I'll look into asking them as separate questions.

1. I did not see an upgrade option. There's a method to my madness. Is there a paid upgrade program?

2. I may end up bringing a few people with me. I'm nobody special but I am "KGIII" from Slashdot. I know a few people. Who knows what it will entail?

3. This is a stupid question but you seem to keep a low-profile so I should ask it anyhow. Depending on how many people notice the site, can/should I link back prominently to your site?

Re. #3 - I'm thinking tastefully (hosting on my own server so as to not irk AdBlock, uBlock Origin, or uMatrix) figuring a way out to link back. Except, I really suck at graphics. Do you have any ready made graphics that we are entitled/encouraged to use? I looked around and I might have missed them.

At any rate, I'm in there playing with stuff now. I am both grateful and pleasantly surprised. It will give me a lot to do that I otherwise might not have tried. I appreciate that.

Thanks! Thanks for being patient and speedy with the support and thanks for having such great service - for free. I will make it a point to work out a site and attract some users. I'm typically a prolific novella writer on the aforementioned Slashdot - and have been for years. Having done such, and having had an interesting career, means that I've developed a group of us who all spends time communicating and are similarly minded. I've been urged to develop some sort of site, or cluster of sites, in order to make it easier for us to get together.

As this is a support specific thread I will stop bugging you. I'd looked around the forum and realized that (in my opinion) not a whole lot of people took the time to say thank you. Not only am I really grateful but I'm inclined to articulate it. If, at some point, you do decide to have a paid offering then I may be ready to upgrade by then. I'd not complain to someone letting me know if you do opt to go that route. I'll also (try to remember to) do what I can to see about adding some forum content here. Thanks once again.
