[Solved] Question About Free Domain Name.

Hello guys,

I've created a new account yesterday, and registered my website as "ctfisep.org", deleting the "heliohost" part.
Is it going to make the DNS bug?

Indeed, when I connect to http://ctfisep.org, it reads the server doesn't exist. However, when I go to the IP of the server (which is specifed in the domains section of cPanel), it reads the Account is queued (even if It's been more than 24 hours, and even if I cleared my cache). It doesn't seem to be working properly.

Moreover, the cPanel license now seems to be expired :(..
Any help?

Have a good day.

Regular domains (.com, .org, .net, and similar) have to be purchased through a registrar to use them. They're not free. You can buy domains with common TLDs like .com and .org at any major registrar, we recommend Namecheap.

If you don't want to buy that domain, you need to change your main domain to something that you can use. You can do that here: http://www.heliohost.org/classic/support/scripts/domain

You can pick a something.heliohost.org domain, or a domain with an ending TLD that's from a free registrar (.tk, .ml, and .cf are the most well known free TLDs, but they can only be obtained from a single registrar called Freenom, which is known for poor customer service and their fairly common practice of cancelling domains or hijacking them and serving malware so they can extort money from you to get your site back).

We own the domain heliohost.org, which is why we can give away anything underneath it (something.heliohost.org).

Using the shared IP address will always show Queued. The server needs to see a domain name in it requests because it uses the domain name to determine what content needs to be shown.

Thank you for reply :)

So, I have to change my domain back to ctfisep.heliohost.org at http://www.heliohost.org/classic/support/scripts/domain ?

Then, the content of my public_html should be displayed at http://www.ctfisep.heliohost.org ?

Is it possible to make the change of the main domain faster than 48 hours?

Thank you again for help.

It doesn't take 48 hours anymore. It's "up to" 24 hours now, usually less.

Also, I'm not sure if this will even work properly right now because of this open issue: Johnny cPanel license needs to be renewed. I'll escalate this just in case that license issue causes it to not work. Our root admin Krydos can check on it after fixing that license issue to verify it changed successfully.
