The New Wiki...

Bailey

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

The new wiki is currently being configured over at http://wiki.bailey.cf therefore, please refrain from updating the wiki at wiki.helionet.org as it may not be transferred! Also, don't bother creating an account on the new wiki yet as it won't work :( I'm halfway through configuring it and it is taking longer than planned, it should be all finished by Halloween 👻...

A message to Krydos,

I can't get the SQL server to transfer due to errors all over the place, I don't know whether that is my fault or simply because of my privileges on the cPanel. Could you please look into it! I will provide the lines and files of which will need to be edited within the wiki configuration, if you are willing to do this of course. After the SQL is setup I will (providing no errors) be able to do the rest on my own apart from acquiring the images and licenses etc. But I can make do without them and most likely find a stable solution!

Edit: Can you please edit the information so it is correct in the file "/home/bailey/public_html/wiki/LocalSettings.php" between the lines 52-64 (Database Settings for SQL)

Thanks,

Bailey

@Bailey upload the compressed updated dB to your home and then @Krydos can import it.

If all this fails, Krydos give a copy of the compressed dB and files (of the current wiki, I need this as well.) on my account and I'll download and configure/edit on my localhost (I run Linux, so it's fine...)

Its all already there for Krydos, he can access my whole account so I dont need to move the file anywhere :)

And why do you need a copy of the wiki?

And @krydos, bailey_wikidb would be perfect thank you :) :)

And why do you need a copy of the wiki?

That's _if_ your migration fails.

I feel your limited by running the wiki on heliohost, you must run it on localhost to make it easier to work on.

(Preferably edit /etc/hosts to point 127.0.0.1 to wiki.helionet.org)

No I have to work on HelioNet as it makes configuration easier and it wont take 3 hours to upload all the time, it 13,400 files that will need to be transferred quite a bit, its just easier to edit them in cPanel. Ill download it when I create a custom theme but thats it, Im getting it all setup first.

@Bailey 13,400 conf Files? Wtf?

Can't you just replace the files you edited instead of transfering the full thing?

Also: I still think it's easier to work from localhost.

Also Also: compress files and then upload it, you can decompress on the server.
