Favorite Language for coding.

Recommended Posts

I use PHP Designer 2008 (the paid one) for my PHP IDE needs. Generally, you can just use notepad for when you start with PHP. As it is a compiled-on-runtime scripting language, all you do is upload code in a ".php" file into your "public_html" folder and the code will execute.

My favorite language is a little-known one called Blitz3D. Its simple yet powerful enough to do a great deal of things. Its very straight-foreward so it doesn't take long before you can get things running. I've tried C,C++,C#,Java and a few others and it just doesn't have that same effect - it takes a lot of work to get something working.

For online coding my favorite is PHP, of course I use of mix of PHP, HTML, mySQL, and sometimes Javascript too. I should use more CSS but its so tough finding decent info.

How long does it take on average for one to be able to write probably apps for facebook and google?

I hear a lot of talk about Ajax and i've been learning PHP, MySQL but i'm not sure if it so the right combination??

My goal is to participate in the summer of code programme next year. Does anyone know what I should be specialising in and the specific skills i need to have?

Am I the only Java user here ?

I don't have a favorite language, as I'm no expert in any language (I'm only 13 years old) but the few languages I know are Java and HTML. I don't usually use JavaScript though, I just make something called a RuneScape Private Server in Java. I don't know crazy kinds of stuff in HTML either, but if I were to look at a piece of code I would know what it does, even though it would take 456165461 years to code it myself :)

PS: I like Enter's signature also o.O
