Although, while looking up the price of the license I noticed they have a new level called express that supports up to 10 GB of databases for free. wolstech Posted December 3, 2018 Share Posted December 3, 2018 The free Express edition has been around for 18 years actually (used to be known as MSDE 2000, and became Express starting with SQL Server 2005). Older versions were crippled in many other ways beyond max space (limited connections, max memory usage, and IIRC a max on database quantity, not just size), not sure on 2017.
