[Solved] Account Queued

Recommended Posts

Hi, it works when I visit https://edvicon.heliohost.org. But it doesn't work when I use my main domain edvicon.org.

I event through a friend. He also can't get the page.

I've attached a screenshot with this.

I used cloudflare. I also cleared cash on cloudflare. But let me try to change DNS back to Heliohost and change back to cloudflare.

We can't troubleshoot or support any site using CloudFlare. Assuming the domain is added to your account, it should just work once you change the name servers back.

CF is notorious for causing tons of issues with our service, so it's recommended that you avoid it if possible. The only times I've seen CF be required was when someone needed either the bandwidth support (lots of static content) or advanced DNS functions. 99% of users don't need it.

Is it possible to assign Let's Encrypt SSL without cloudflare?

If you use Tommy or Ricky, yes. It's automatic.

Johnny needs you to manually intervene.

Since he's on Tommy, the server will get him a certificate from Comodo/Sectigo on its own within 24 hours.

He needs to do nothing other than use our name servers and ensure he doesn't have a redirect blocking plain HTTP access to the .well-known folder.

That's great. But another question. I'm using Microsoft 365 for the domain. And it's possible to add other DNS records it needed through DNS Zone Editor. But when I try to add SRV records, it's missing some value fields, like 'Protocol'. Is there any way to add SRV with protocol value?

You can put the protocol in the name field after the name, separated with a period. For instance, the _sip record with protocol _tls would become _sip._tls and get entered in the Name/Host field :)

From MS's website (here):

For Service and Protocol: If your DNS host doesn't provide these fields for SRV records, you must specify the Service and Protocol values as the record's Name value. (Note: Depending on your DNS host, the Name field might be called something else, like: HostHostname, or Subdomain.) To set up the combined value, you create a single string, separating the values with a dot. For example: Name: _sip._tls

Wow. Finally did it with your support guys. Now Microsoft DNS are connected. Now I've to wait only till the SSL is assigned.

Anyway, name servers are already added. But what do you mean by that .well-known folder part?

That folder is where the system looks for a special file used for domain validation for the cert. Comodo connects to your domain over plain http and expects to find that file there to verify the domain is valid. If you have a redirect of some kind in your document root, the verification won't be able to find the file and you won't get a certificate.

I  just got the SSL cert. But when viewing through the browser, it shows "Your connection is not private". A attached a snapshot + certificate. Why?
