[Solved] Suspended: retrope

retrope

HelioHost username: retrope

HelioHost main domain: radioretroperu.com

Please, verify server access. I have made several entries during the month of August to the hosting, so I believe it is an error, since there is no account abandonment. I have tried to reactivate the account following the steps indicated, but it is not possible. I hope you can re-activate it, thank you very much.

Update: after almost two hours, the domain was restored, however it does not stop worrying me, since the suspension should NEVER have occurred, since I have had various income to the host and my account during the month of August, so I will not have It made sense for it to be suspended, that is something I would like to know, ¿why did they suspend the service if there was no account abandonment?

How are you logging into the account? There's only two links that count for activity: https://heliohost.org/login/ or https://ricky.heliohost.org.org:2083/ (with nothing after the slash).

Traffic to your site won't keep an account active, nor will a donation unless you donate and request activity immunity in exchange for the donation.

Thanks for your reply. I have entered the hosting by this address (https://heliohost.org/login/) in August I have even added some other domains, it is very strange that the account is suspended. that's why my question, what happened? During all the years that I have been with heliohost, I have entered the hosting link through that link and I never had problems.
Could you please explain to me what this means "Traffic to your site won't keep an account active, nor will a donation unless you donate and request activity immunity in exchange for the donation."

Basically, people visiting your site isn't going to keep it active, nor is giving us money.

It's odd that it didn't catch the login with that link, as that's the suggested way of doing it...

If it is very strange, if someone could check the dates that the other domains added, they will see that they were at the beginning of this month of August, and that the income to hosting is many. I hope this situation can be reviewed.

I have read there, that one can change the account to another server that is a little faster, and I have read that a donation is given so that it can be done. I have a question, does this donation have a minimum amount? And how often do you have to donate again or is it the only time?

thanks for your reply.

You're of course welcome to donate as much or as little as you want, and even set up a recurring donation if you wish. The minimum to get moved to Tommy though is a one time donation of $1 USD. If you're considering donating anyways it might also interest you to know that for a $5 donation you can get your storage space doubled. So it's minimum of $6 to get moved to Tommy AND have extra storage added. Your account is at 218 MB our of 1000 MB right now, and your space could be raised to 2000 MB if you want.

The next thing that I suggest is making sure you are receiving our emails. You get a warning several days in advance of your website being taken offline for inactivity. Then you get another email at the exact moment your website is taken down. If you were to whitelist our emails from no-reply@heliohost.org it would prevent this from happening again because you would know several days in advance that you needed to log in. If you want I can set it up to send you a test email to make sure it's working, and you're receiving them correctly.

We have discussed setting up a system to prevent account inactivity by donating each month, and that is something we'd like to do in the future because quite a few people have requested it, but it hasn't been done yet. Keep an eye on our news on our main website, here on the forums, on facebook, on twitter, or even on our discord channel, whichever is most convenient for you, because we will make a news post when we add this functionality.

Finally, I just tested logging in to your server, Ricky, via https://www.heliohost.org/login/ and it correctly updated the last login date in our database. I'm not sure why it didn't work for you.

Thanks for the info. next month I will be making the donation. Could you give me the steps or where I can find information to make the migration from hosting to tommy and how do I make the donation?

The following is to tell you that the notifications have always arrived correctly to the email registered with you, the last time we had a notification was April 21. The heliohost.org emails are on a white list. As an anecdote, I tell you that a few months ago I also had a problem of canceling my account for violating the rules, I contacted you and in the end they realized that I had not done anything improper but that due to a system error another person did something Undue that I relate my account and they confused me, in the end they solved it and I received the apologies.

The idea of creating a system to avoid inactivity of the account through the monthly donation seems good to me, however in these times of pandemic, there are many people who I suppose are restarting their economic activity, I think the idea is a good one But this moment is difficult not for me but for many people it is. I will be attentive to your social networks, and I hope they do not suspend my account again, since I know all the security measures to receive notifications from you. Thanks for your time.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi! here I am again in less than a month. Again my hosting account and all the domains and subdomains that I have created have been suspended. I find it incredible that I am suspended again in less than a month. I was lucky to have the option to "reactivate account" and after a few minutes it was reactivated. However, this is not normal since if you verify the income that I have had from hosting, there have been many during this month and the previous one, so much so that I have uploaded information as well as I have created subdomains. Could you tell me what happens, why is my account suspended if I do have login activity to the hosting? thanks for the reply. by the way, in a few days I will migrate through a donation.

The account wasn't actually inactive, but rather Apache needed to be restarted.

Ricky sometimes glitches during its Apache restart, and when it does, every single account on the server shows an inactive page until Apache restarts a second time. Meanwhile, the accounts can still be logged into and report as active if you renew them...it's just impossible to actually see the website when this happens.

I understand your explanation. this means that these apache restarts will always give this false positive. In months ago I never had this problem, and it has always been notified to my email account. this leaves me speechless, as one should pay attention to these suspended account "errors". If there is anything that can be done please help me, Thank you very much for your reply.

I think I found the reason that Ricky has been doing this occasionally. It looks like the malfunction happened on August 15th, and has been affecting apache reboots occasionally since then. Thanks for reporting it. Hopefully it's fixed now.
