[Solved] Changing "PHP memory limit" and "max execution time"

Hi, I know it's not recommended but I've used Wordpress to rebuild my site. I tried going with Joomla, but I didn't get very far, and it seems like you have to be kind of a pro and to be building from scratch for this to be any kind of option.

Anyway, I tried installing a plugin today that works with the Elementor page builder, or is supposed to. Doing this, caused an infinite load of Elementor, which I researched online and got the answer from the plugin developer (not Elementor, the other one) that:

"It’s due to your server PHP settings. Increase your server PHP memory limit from the wp-config.php file or php.ini file. If you don’t have an idea about it. Please contact your hosting provider and ask to increase

* PHP memory_limit = 512M
* max_execution_time = 300"

I searched the wp-config.php for the site I need it on, but didn't find anything like these two.

So two questions:

1) is doing this allowed? and

2) if so, how can I do it?

Thanks

This is not permitted. 512Mb is *well* into "buy a VPS" territory. In fact, Wordpress is only application we recommend people not use, primarily because it uses so much memory that it nearly always ends with a high load suspension for it. That also ignores the fact that it's very easy to hack, and earns tons of people accidental bans when the hacker sets up phishing on their account.

The proper solution here is to use something that's not Wordpress.
