Since a couple of days, I'm unable to connect to tommy through webmail and using web clients (thunderbird). Yesterday, I've tried logging in cpanel with the main heliohost account and I get the following error message

Quote

Maximum Users Exceeded.

The number of users on the server exceeds the maximum number of allowed users for your host server.

For more information, contact your hosting provider: “Who is my hosting provider?

If you have already updated your license, please wait a few minutes. Then try logging in again.

I'm pretty sure my account has not been deactivated, what could be the issue here?

Cpanel revoked our licenses and tried to demand $17k from us (basically they tried to extort us) so cpanel and email no longer work. The only thing you can do at this point is back your stuff up via FTP or wait for backups to be made for you. The servers are going to be rebuilt with plesk instead, but that will take a month or two.

You can upload phpmyadmin onto your account using FTP, then visit it in your browser and sign in using your cpanel username/password. From there you can modify or export the databases.

Also, if you're on Tommy we're already working on backing up the accounts. Once that happens, you'll be able to visit our website and download a backup that contains your files and databases.

With the actual weather in Luxembourg, it's a nightmare to be a non-professional, trying to configure a VPS, when you have to sit with your laptop outside, in order to have Internet access. Nevertheless, the major part of my website is running, DNS issues resolved thanks to the help found in this forum, Perl CGI figured out by myself after some 6 hours of hard work. Today, I configured mail and my server receives emails, including emails with non existing accounts going to a default one. Sending emails seems fine, too. However:
      - Has anyone an idea, what I must do to use webmail? With http://www.mydomain.lu/webmail, I get a "page not found" error (the same for https). To note that there is no webmail folder in my domain's web or mail directory. Have I to run some setup script for Roundcube, that perhaps creates this folder?
Another problem, that I have no idea how to solve, is awstats. Awstats is actually running, but is only accessible via http. In fact, it does not work with the alias, defined in the generated config, but with an alias I created myself.
      - Is there some additionnal configuration to do, if I want to access the awstas pages with https? And why, when accessing it with http, the pages are immediately displayed, with a "basicauth/require valid user" set for the awstats directory?
Forgive me for asking, concerning sth that seems evident, but I'm not sure, because Hestia does lots of things automatically.
      - When I changed my SSH port, the connection with PuTTY was timed out. May that be, because I have to open the new port in iptables? And if I change the port, have I to use the new port for secure FTP, too, or are these two things, that have nothing to do with each other?
Sorry, for all these questions, but the Hestia documentation is limited to some specific points and there are very few webpages, where I found some usefull information. Thanks in advance.

      Hi admins
Can you explain to me what's going on recently.
      I mean:
What is CPanel and why you chose CPanel in the past?
How CPanel affect your service? (Clarify: Admin Kydros has suffered from some CPanel behaviors)
From your expectations, why CPanel revoked your registeration?
What does Plesk do as CPanel do or don't?
Does Heliohost will be FREE and FOREVER whatever the circumstances?
      What do you say?
Feel free to answer and thanks for the hard work!
You guys are very incredible, I had never saw a free hosting service like your host ever!
Forgive me if anything wrong or violates your rules.
NOTE: Sorry for duplicate questions from another users, my topic was accidentally created
      Sincerely
      Sffreesy

Hello, I have two questions regarding cPanel.
First, I would like to force all subdomains (cpanel.domain.com, webmail.domain.com, etc.) to use https. I have the SSL certs setup through AutoSSL, and I can access the secure version by manually typing in https, but I would like to force this behavior for safety/security concerns. It seems like this can be done using WHM, but I don't actually have a good idea of what WHM (Web Host Manager) is. Is this the software that Heliohost uses to provide each user with their own cPanel login and individual customization? If so, do users have any access to this interface?
Next, I was having issues redirecting traffic pointed to the www. version of my domain name to the non-www. version. In cPanel, I have configured a redirect to match both www. and non-www. that points to the base domain name (https://example.com). However, this redirect only works for requests sent to http://www.example.com. Accessing https://www.example.com does not redirect to the non-www. version. I previously was self-hosting my site, and was able to accomplish this functionality through nginx redirect rules. Is there anything I am missing in setting up this redirect?

      Thank you!

I want to set up a little website on a reasonably reliable host -- that's free, due to my minimal income -- to implement a calculator that tallies voters' orders of preference using a state-of-the-art algorithm (much better than the Ranked Choice Voting algorithm).  The website won't store any data or transmit data to anyone (except it would of course send the results to the user who types or pastes in the votes).  The site would be just one file, a php5 script that's about 60 kBytes.  To use it, one member of the voting group pastes their orders of preference into the webpage's text field, and then clicks the "tally now" button... it would respond by tallying the results on the server side (using php code) and sending the results as a refreshed webpage.  The webpage is just text with some color-coding, so the bandwidth consumed would also be tiny.
I'm hoping the partners at Heliohost have the will and a way to spare me from the monthly logins... they seem unnecessary due to the negligible storage and bandwidth that my site would consume, and my free time is very limited.
This website would not be for my personal benefit or profit.  My goal is to teach the world about this voting system by letting people use it.  This kind of system would have many benefits if used by democracies: It would minimize spoiling (Ranked Choice Voting does NOT eliminate spoiling, contrary to what many of its proponents claim), eliminate the need for primary elections, create a much stronger incentive for politicians to adopt policies similar to the majority-preferred policies they believe the voters themselves would collectively choose (if voters were able to vote directly on issues), end political polarization, reliably defeat extremists, and stabilize policies.  In other words, the goal is to strengthen democracy and save the world.
The reason that primitive voting methods (including Ranked Choice Voting) cause so many problems is that they count at most one majority.  But the fact is, there's more than one majority when there are more than two candidates, and all of the head-to-head majorities of the complete round robin tournament can be counted given the voters' orders of preference. (The most widely used, most frequently used voting method -- the Robert's Rules procedure for voting on motions -- pays attention only to head-to-head majorities, which are based on relative preferences.  But it's only halfway toward state-of-the-art because it works like a single-elimination tournament, not a round robin tournament.  In other words, the Robert's Rules procedure counts only some of the head-to-head majorities: when there are N alternatives, it counts N-1 majorities to eliminate N-1 alternatives.)  After counting all of the head-to-head majorities of the complete round robin, the best way to construct the order of finish is to process the majorities one at a time, from largest majority to smallest majority, placing each majority's more-preferred alternative ahead of their less-preferred alternative in the order of finish.  The largest-to-smallest processing order is in accord with the heuristic that underpins majority rule: "The larger the number of people who think x is better than y, the more likely it is that x is better than y, all else being equal."  I've attached a screenshot of part of the webpage (before the voters' orders of preference are typed in).  The text in the screenshot provides some additional information about the voting method.

I have two web-pages on my cPanel account: one static html page at https://ternsjo-it.heliohost.us/troff/ one Java-war-application-page at https://ternsjo-it.heliohost.us/ternsjo_Troff/  both work fine at there respective url's, however, I would like users to simply type https://sb.troff.app to access my web application. When I create a subdomain, I must specify a "Root domain". IF I specify public_html/troff then the subdomain will point to the static page. Now my question is what I should specify in Document Root for the subdomain to point to the java-war-application-page? Thanks for trying to explain this! NOTE: I have tried to put "/public_html/ternsjo_Troff" as Document Root but it is not working...I use the Tommy server.
