hugh.jeego Posted June 27, 2005 Share Posted June 27, 2005 i have limite experience with linux. a friend had it, and i tried to install it on my pc, on a seperate partition from windows xp pro mce, and it f**ked up my partition. the installation messed up half way through and i was left with a virtually unrepairable 40GB. i know that really wasnt linux's fault, but since then i've always held it against linux. It may have been due to the fact that Linux is a very unstable and crude operating system. Linux and Unix are basically the same thing, and so are linux and Mac OS, besides the fact that linux, being a CLI, will always pwn any GUI-based OS. Period. amhso Posted November 11, 2005 Share Posted November 11, 2005 I prefer linux over all the others because it's more reliable and hogs less resources making your computer run faster than other OS's, while still letting you change hardware to what you like, unlike mac's. The overall flexibility of Linux is better too, you can make it do whatever you want, and look the way it wants, and perferm the way you want. Not only that, but it doesn't hide things from you. Windows and OSX hide all system processes from you, even as administrator. In linux, you can find everything you want...and more.
