A quick update, since you fixed my issue, the Johnny server has been working better then the other two. So, whatever you did seemed to stabalize Johnny. Good Work!!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have a paypal or skrill account and am on a fixed disability income (hence moving to free hosting after 20 years of having a site). So, I guess I'll just have to try hit and miss to get a tommy account.

Could I get moved to Tommy then?? or is there something I can do to make Johnny work?

Yes I realize it is a bit "old school". Then again, the site is 20 years old... (it was cutting edge then... lol) I may just have to teach myself php quickly if we can't get this figured out

Okay, that got the script working if you do a direct call, however the script still errors when called from a webpage Example: http://dwarfnet.heliohost.org/cgi-bin/fortunecookie.cgi will return the fortune line however clicking on the fortunecookie at http://dwarfnet.heliohost.org/fortunecookie will still cause a 500 server error even though it is calling the same script.

Yes permissions were set to 755 This issue is with all the perl scripts on the site (the site dwarfnet.com is new to this hosting company, the scripts have worked fine on other servers for 20 years)

No perl scripts seem to work on the johnny server. I even tried your basic "hello world" script copied from this site and still just get 500 server errors. I tried renaming the .htacess file but that didn't help Any suggestions would be appreciated Thank you
