  1. I always make sure that I'm getting the right amount of space...and of course companies will do that, it's any way to make an extra buck
  2. Hi, I'm using my own DNS server to manage my domain name so I don't have to keep resetting the subdomains if the host changes...so I'm wondering what I should point my main domain name (masterxc.net) to (the IP of the actual webhost). If I use heliohost's DNS servers, it pushes mine down the list which breaks the subdomains
  3. My laptop's 10 years old...not kidding (it still has the designed for windows 98 sticker on it...and a 98 SE key on the back). PIII 450mhz 320 MB RAM (upgraded it ) 8 MB S3 Savage/IX @ 100mhz clock (120 safe overclock) DirectX 8.1 (no 9 support) And it runs XP Pro perfectly
  4. All numbers everyone has posted so far + 1
  5. Well, I've been using HelioHost for a while now, but I've noticed a few things... 1) My subdomain, xc.masterxc.net, does not resolve like it's supposed to. It used to work, but even DNSReports state their's no NS record for it. I've tried re-adding the subdomain via cPanel, and it still fails to work for some people (I can access it fine...probably because it's cached). However, my primary domain (masterxc.net) works perfectly fine. 2) Bandwidth meter is always at 0, regardless of what kind of traffic I do. My site's finally active with people using the forums (although the DNS not resolving is causing problems) so there is HTTP traffic, but reports and such fail to work at all. 3) cPanel takes an annoyingly long time to load. It took almost 10 MINUTES for it to come up. The server load was ~12 at that time. 4) Periodically my site would disappear off the web...timeouts and 404 errors all over the place. Once HelioHost was even gone...possibly a problem with the DNS server. Yes, my domain's parked here and working fine. It's just the subdomains that are screwing up.
  6. I'm guessing he's asking what the IP is to access Heliohost's external mySQL database, as this has never been specified. A simple misunderstanding I guess.
  7. That usage was around 4 PM EST...it might be lower at some points during the day. I don't notice too much of a slowdown, but it's noticeable.
  8. I could have sworn I've seen some of those before..... If only I had that worksheet I got for school a couple years ago...it had a bunch of those
  9. It seems this doesn't last very long...the host of it is out of helions!
  10. Heh, way to point that out Well, even though this isn't an intro forum, I still feel welcomed
  11. It appears that you use the item regardless whether or not you specify valid information. It seems to be a bug that occurs with a lot of IPB store items. I think the bought items are logged somehow so you might be able to get the hosting, but I'm not sure.
  12. What browser are you running? Any addons? Latest patch? What OS? You need to specify a lot more information than what you put in More specifically, any link that causes the crash?
  13. Well, nowadays HDDs can transfer quite a bit more than 400 MB/s....like the new SATA and SCSI drives out there, including drives that hold 1 TB+!
  14. Mine's so old it's made to run Windows 98, but I run XP Pro on it (Laptop) CPU: PIII 450Mhz Memory: 256Mb Video: S3 Savage IX (8 MB) On the plus side it has a DVD drive
