  1. I'm currently reading Throne of Jade. For a new fantasy trilogy (First novel: His Majesty's Dragon) it's actually a good read given that I'm picky about the novels I pick up and read. Highly Recommended Novels of the Fiction Category: Life of Pi Kite Runner 1984 The Great Gatsby Angela's Ashes A Stranger in a Strange Land Good Omens Riddlemaster Trilogy
  2. I like anything that's not mainstream or from America (Current pop/rock/alt scene) since frankly no offense meant but of the late, I haven't heard talent come out of the woodwork. I pity the fact that 'artists' these days have no sense of classical training. Enough of my lack of respect for American 'artists' (There's a few exceptions to the rule) Muse Radiohead Imogen Heap Yoshida Brothers Jem E Nomine Giovanni Mirabassi Gregorian X-Ray Dog Immediate Music E.S. Posthumus Dido Ashley MacIssac Richard Cheese *You can't go wrong with him* SR-71 *Kicked off the alt. scene* Megaherz Yoshinori Mitsuda *Composer* Lazyboy Clint Mansell *Composer*
  3. Why not stick with something that is feasible as far as alternative energy goes? Such as solar, wind and water? They're available now and much faster in being out on the market before scientists can figure out how to harness the power of anti matter.
  4. I'm sure it was made in jest at first but then again when you think about it- it makes sense, but yes it is a rather nice compromise between the two factions, which is interesting given that science came into being since man was curious in finding God through nature and its processes. Then again my pastor was rather open minded and rode motorcycles despite being over 60...
  5. I was born in the United States in Santa Clara, CA Currently I live in Washington and consider myself more Washingtonian than Californian given that I've only lived in CA for 6 years as opposed to the 14 in WA. Ethnically...I would say that I'm 7/8ths Korean 1/8th Japanese 1st generation born in the US Culturally: I have mostly European viewpoints due to the fact that my mother was born in Korea, lived in Germany for nearly 20 years and lived in England for 12 years. (She traversed throughout Europe as well.) There are some dashes of Korean/Japanese and American culture views tossed in the mix as well. Visited: Utah Oregon California Nevada Korea Lived: Japan *For a month* Wish to Visit: Mexico Peru Puerto Rico China Japan *Family is there* Korea *Family is there* Europe- Mostly Germany and Russia *I have family members in Switzerland* Egypt Sri Lanka *Must have my tea fix* Morocco All of South East Asia
  6. Personally Obama since he's shown apitude in being able to handle a [bleeped!] load of pressure in the face of people who have gone out of their way to slander him, do death threats and for his strong grasp in his views on issues concerning our economic crisis as well as others. (Not to mention that he's never had a single problem with his campaign funds.) COUGHCLINTONCOUGH. McCain- He's not solid in anything and even wished to continue in engaging with the war in Iraq for another 100 years or so. The war is costing us billions of dollars and the respect of other nations. Hell, because of the war the suicide rate in the army has jumped by 10%. 114 versus last year's 104...No thanks, but I'm going to have to give the old, white man a big stamp of no for sure. It's old, white men that got us into this mess and certainly not them that are going to get us out of it for sure. (Bush's third and fourth term incarnate I can promise you.) Clinton- She's a sinking ship. From the beginning she had all the advantages and squandered them uselessly. She's run out of funds in her campaign at least two or three times. (It's hard to keep count) Her lies and her infantile slander against Obama is rather unbecoming of her and certainly NOT a quality I want in any leader of a large nation. Then there's the fact that she insinuated in wanting Obama assassinated during her speech on the anniversary day of Kennedy's assassination. Ron Paul- I can only wish. We really need to get back onto our gold/silver standard instead of using paper that means nothing. (Look at Britain...there's a reason why their money doesn't change...they're on the bloody silver standard, they have real money in their coffers.) Pity that he didn't get that far to be considered a primary candidate.
  7. Age old debate indeed. Personally I'm of a scientific calling, having nearly majored in biology only to switch to nursing. I can see that people due to religious calling won't believe in evolution and would use the word theory to fight for their beliefs. However, it's a rather hard argument to NOT believe that evolution doesn't exist. It's hard to argue against selective breeding, which is a process of evolution to a certain degree...(artificial evolution but still 'evolution' techincally speaking.) As to my personal view on it- as my pastor once said in my old church that I used to attend before moving... God said 'let there be light' and there was the big bang and everything else just followed after.
  8. I would have to say that I don't particularly give two cents worth of attention to religion since all it has ever provoked was nothing more than bloodshed and grief for centuries and even today we're not free of the bloody past in the name of god or gods. Take a look at the current political climes of the American presidency for the past 10 years or so. Wasn't the whole point of the founding of the United States to seperate Church from State? I will not say that I'm atheist as well, however I would like to point out that there's nothing wrong with being spiritual but I do admit that I have to balk at the notion of religion since I see it as an institutionalized sort of entity. Personally people should have the right to express what they believe in as long as it's not fanatical to the point where it's harmful or offensive. As a good friend of mine said, we need people of spiritual fruits and not religious nuts.
