#172189 [Solved] HELP! Johnny Database is DOWN!

Posted by wolstech on 24 March 2020 - 07:09 PM

This is normal for Johnny. MySQL goes down quite regularly on that server due to load.

It usually recovers on its own in about 10 minutes.

#172014 [Krydos] Php Memory Limit raise request

Posted by wolstech on 18 March 2020 - 05:23 PM

We can ask Krydos, but in my opinion that's well into VPS territory. What are you doing that needs that much anyway (if it's running XF or WP, they're known memory hogs and the answer is to find different software)?

To give you an idea, the server has 16GB of RAM and ~1300 accounts. You're asking for 1/32 of the entire server's worth of RAM, when it needs to be shared by 1300 people. While the memory is often free now, it can't be raised for a single person. If everyone starts using it, the server will promptly run out of memory.

#171906 [Solved] Unable to host my domain on heliohost

Posted by wolstech on 15 March 2020 - 08:24 PM

You'd need to make the domain an addon domain if you want to use a folder other than public_html. Since you cannot use our name servers for some reason, you cannot use addon domains.

The main domain always points to public_html and cannot be changed.

As a result, the answer to your question is simply "you can't."

Correct, you should add all appropriate records. The most important will be the A or CNAME records for mail, www, ftp, and cpanel, and the TXT records for mail (DKIM and SPF). If you use webdisk you'll want to add that one as well. You can take a look in the cPanel zone editor to see what they should be.

Keep in mind that if you decide to use subdomains, you'll need to add an A or CNAME record for the new subdomain on CF as well.

#171833 [Solved] Unable to host my domain on heliohost

Posted by wolstech on 13 March 2020 - 04:43 PM

It's because of Cloudflare. CF is providing the required DNS so the domain is working. I see a login prompt when I visit it. The server is fully ready to accept requests for the domain, but our DNS servers are not cooperating for some reason so nobody was able to find it.

Our name servers have something wrong with them I think. When I query either of them for your domain, I get "query refused", which is an error I've never seen before. I'd normally have Krydos look into this, but since you're using CF it's a moot point anyway.

Domain changed.

#171776 [Solved] Unable to host my domain on heliohost

I can manually add it for you.

If it's supposed to be your main domain or an alias, I only need the name of the domain in question.

If you want it listed as an addon domain, you should also create a subdomain on your account, then tell me what you called that subdomain so I can park it on top to make an addon domain.

#171744 How does the "suspend account" script work?

Posted by wolstech on 10 March 2020 - 02:14 PM

The system ranks accounts by their resource consumption. As long as load is low enough, it doesn't matter who is at the top of that list, nothing will happen. When load rises, the system starts suspending users in order, heaviest users first, and working its way down the list until the load drops. More than one person can end up suspended, it just keeps working its way down the list until the load is low again.

If you look here (http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/) during a load spike, you'll see it go from green to red (or white, which means the server is timing out), then the load "fades out" gradually. What you're seeing is it spiking into the red zone, and then the server suspending users to bring it back down to normal. As the server works its way down the list and suspends people, the load drops gradually as each account stops producing load.

If you look in cPanel->Account Load, you can use that chart to get an idea of where you are on that list. While it doesn't show the exact position, a user with one or both meters at or near 100 will always be near the front of the line for suspension during a load event. The lower those bars are, the further back you are. Keep in mind though that the bar reflects your average usage of that resource for the day, and doesn't really reflect spike load (e.g. getting linked by reddit). It's very possible for an account that averages very little load to skyrocket to the top of the internal suspension list due to a spike in traffic or broken script and end up suspended despite their otherwise low load.

#171406 [Solved] Error adding alias domain on cPanel

Posted by wolstech on 02 March 2020 - 12:07 AM

I just went ahead and manually parked this for you. I can't guarantee it'll work because of the DNS issues on EU.org's end, but it's now added to your account nonetheless.

I see it as queued on my end. Give it a little while and it should work (well, it'll work for anyone who's DNS servers have received the records...)

#171017 [Solved] Suspended: hh_bruno4me

Posted by wolstech on 20 February 2020 - 06:33 PM

It's banned for phishing because a fake Amazon login page was hosted on the account (specifically on one of the marketsquare domains).

HelioHost does not tolerate Phishing activity of any kind, and permanently bans any user account that engages in such activity.

EDIT: Just realized you have two accounts too. Not only does having two accounts violate our terms of service on its own, the account also has 4 Amazon domains attached to it (though no content uploaded yet). If I had to guess that one will eventually go phishing too and is now also banned.
