HelioHost Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Dear Heliohost, I'm trying to renew my account with username "kristel" but I get "There is no account in our database that matches that username". On September 25th I received an email "Your hosting plan has been discontinued for inactivity". As far as I remember I renewed my account then, and haven't received any emails since. Is there any way to renew my account, or has it been permanently deleted? Unfortunately my own last backup is very old. Thank you for providing your free hosting service. Best regards,Kristel Boekhorst
Krydos Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Stevie, the server that your account was located on, crashed back in November http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/26664-2016-11-30/ and it was eventually diagnosed as a failed hard drive. We backed up as much as we could but the hard drive was already badly damaged so some information may be lost. You can go to https://www.heliohost.org/backup/ to download your backup. It looks like you have over 200mb of data in your file so you may be one of the lucky ones. Once you get your backup downloaded we recommend creating a new account on Tommy https://www.heliohost.org/signup/ as it will be a few more weeks at the earliest before we can get Stevie running again. Let us know if you need any help.
HelioHost Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 Dear Heliohost support,Thanks a lot for your answer! I'm very sorry to hear about Stevie.I successfully downloaded my backup. It contains parts of my WordPress theme and uploaded pictures. Unfortunately the SQL database (which I think should contain all the text) seems almost empty. When I open the SQL file in a text editor I see "Dump completed on 2016-12-21 18:10:34" which seems to be 2 weeks after the crash (how is that possible?). I guess it means I lost the contents of the database?Again thanks for your help!Best regards,Kristel Boekhorst 2017-01-26 21:30 GMT+01:00 Heliohost Support <support@heliohost.org>:Stevie, the server that your account was located on, crashed back in November http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/26664-2016-11-30/ and it was eventually diagnosed as a failed hard drive. Krydos Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 After Stevie crashed we devised and executed a way to access his hard drives remotely, and backed up everything that we could. There was already a lot of damage on the hard drive so some things were already lost.
