HelioHost Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Username: N/A, Server: N/A, Main Domain: N/A I have MX (email settings) with my current Registrar. If I change my DNS settings (at my registrar) to HelioHost will this causeme to stop receiving Gmail for Domains emails? If so, what's the correct procedure to maintain/not interrupt my current MXsettings?
Krydos Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 We recommend changing your nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org, adding your domain through cpanel, and then copying your current mx records into cpanel.
HelioHost Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 Last time I did this, it left me days without my Gmail for Domains (MXrecords)... I have Cloudfare DNS,Can I change the CNAME records (currently pointing to my current webhost)?*This may prevent loosing/not able to access emails...* *What should be the HelioPost CNAME records, to input into CloudFare DNS*? Krydos Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 It's certainly possible to use cloudflare DNS. I have no idea what settings you would need though because I have no idea what your username, server, domain, or anything really.
HelioHost Posted December 3, 2017 Author Posted December 3, 2017 I didn't want to post settings for everyone to see...*My username: sucuruac* These are my Cloudfare DNS settings (*pseudonym for real domain*) *What should be the CNAME records for HelioHost*? Krydos Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 There is no account in our system with the username sucuruac. Are you sure on that?
HelioHost Posted December 3, 2017 Author Posted December 3, 2017 Sorry, I meant: sukuruac On 12/3/2017 1:09 PM, Heliohost Support wrote:> There is no account in our system with the username sucuruac. Krydos Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) Well, you won't be able to use cloudflare on the domain [redacted] because you can't change the nameservers on it. If you're talking about some other domain like pseudonym.com it isn't currently using cloudflare either. I suspect that pseudonym.com isn't the domain you're actually talking about though which makes it really difficult to figure out what you're talking about.1. Change your main domain to pseudonym.com or whatever your domain actually is.2. Set your nameservers to whatever cloudflare says to.3. Set your cname to 64.62.211.131 probably.4. If none of that works you'll need to contact clouflare for support because we don't have access to their system and we can't see or change any of their settings. Edited February 29, 2020 by flazepe
HelioHost Posted December 3, 2017 Author Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) [redacted] is working. So, I changed the CNAME in Cloudfare DNS to point tosukuruac.heliohost.com,but I get the message that the "account is queued"I tried to "Addon Domains" for [redacted] and I get the message:(XID c5ua9q) Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address thatdoes not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers *_or_ have your administrator add one of its nameservers to/etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver.*Is this possible, any fees to do this?On 12/3/2017 1:51 PM, Heliohost Support wrote:> Well, you won't be able to use cloudflare on the domain [redacted] because you can't change the nameservers on it. Krydos Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) You won't be able to add [redacted] to cpanel without changing your nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.orgThe work around is to change your main domain to [redacted] because that doesn't require a nameserver check. HelioHost Posted December 3, 2017 Author Posted December 3, 2017 To "change my main domain" to tecangels.comThrough "Aliases"? must set nameserver...What option should I use in CPanel? Krydos Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 No, you can't change your main domain through cpanel. Go to https://www.heliohost.org/login/ , log in, and then click the change main domain button instead of clicking continue to cpanel.
